Introduction: High blood sugar level during pregnancy without prior history of diabetes is referred to as gestational diabetes. Lack of adequate physical activity, unhealthy diet, previous history of diabetes, and obesity are some reasons for developing this disease. Dietary changes and weight management are found to be effective in gestational diabetes; however, an individualized program with recommendations from an obstetrician, a nutritionist, and other specialists is needed for it to be most effective.
