Expert Solution & Answer
Chapter 5, Problem 17MLM
Explanation of Solution
Characteristics of cloud computing:
- The general characteristics of cloud computing are:
- On-demand self-service:
- The customer or the subscriber of the cloud, without communicating to the human from the cloud provider, can increase or decrease the computing requirements on demand.
- The computing requirements are server, network storage, and software applications.
- Broad network access:
- The broad network access is an important component of cloud computing.
- The services provided by the cloud provider must be accessible over the network from any location and any standardized platform.
- Resource pooling:
- Resource pooling is the ability to provide the services to multiple subscribers for their need at the same time.
- The resources are assigned at the time of subscribers’ login and it will be changed dynamically based on their needs.
- The subscribers are unaware of the location of resource where the reassignment is done.
- Maintaining, upgrading, and administrating the hosts contributed to the cloud is a burden of the cloud provider.
- Rapid elasticity:
- This refers to the ability to provide increased computing resources in peak hours without the worry of system overload and additional hardware requirements...
- On-demand self-service:
