Question
Chapter 46.3, Problem 3SB
Summary Introduction
To review:
The role of chemoreceptors in the medulla.
Introduction:
A specialized sensory receptor that tends to transduce a chemical substance into a certain biological signal is referred to as the chemoreceptor. The signal is produced in the form of an action potential but when the chemosensor is a specialized sensory receptor like a taste bud or taste receptor, then the biological signal generated acts as a neurotransmitter and activates the nerves in its vicinity.
