Introduction:
The mode of respiration takes place in aquatic animals through the water, like fishes, they use blood capillaries for the exchange of gases. Exchange of gases seems easy in these animals due to the presence of large surface area so that they can get the maximum amount of dissolved oxygen from the surroundings. One such mechanism involved in gaseous exchange is countercurrent exchange.
