To compare: The two types of photoreceptors, describe the signal transduction pathway that is activated when rhodopsin responds to light, and summarize the visual pathway.

Introduction: Photoreceptors receive the light rays and convert these light rays to signal impulses. These signal impulses are generated at the neuronal linkages between these photoreceptors and dendrites of a neuron. Hence, the signals are sent by the signal transduction pathway.
