Concept explainers
To determine:
The molecules in the molecule set that are polar.
Introduction:
Polar molecules are the molecules that contain polar bonds and the sum of their dipole moments are not zero. They are formed when there is difference in the electronegativity values of the atoms that are participation in the bond formation.
Non polar molecules are the molecules in which the electrical charges of the non polar molecules are distributed in an uneven across the molecule. Non polar molecules have an even distribution of electrons oven the entire surface. There is no separation of charges so no formation of positive and negative poles.
