Interpretation: The molarity of ethanol in the solution prepared by dissolving 75.0mL of ethanol in enough water to make 250.0mL of the solution is to be calculated.

Concept introduction: The solute’s amount is one major factor affecting the solution’s concentration. Any solution always contains a definite solute and solvent’s amount. The solute’s amount in terms of its mass is computed using its density and volume. This mass further gives its moles. The expression for molarity is shown below.
