Nucleoside consists of nitrogen base along with sugar (ribose or deoxyribose) but without phosphate.
A nucleoside has sugar along with base components.
Nucleotide includes one or more phosphate groups attached to a nitrogen base.
Sugar molecules in nucleoside and nucleotide are either ribose or deoxyribose.
The removal of phosphate group from nucleotide by hydrolysis results in the formation of nucleoside.

Nucleosides are nitrogen-based compounds without phosphate groups attached to sugar whereas nucleotides have one to three phosphate groups attached to nitrogenous base and sugar. A nucleotide is nothing but nucleoside which binds phosphate groups.
