The association of the hypersensitive response with other chemical responses.
Introduction:
The plants protect themselves from foreign invading agents by mounting two types of responses and these are general response and an effector-mediated response. The hypersensitive response is a part of general response because it is immediately activated in response to the pathogenic agent. During a hypersensitive response, the wound area is surrounded by dead cells. Hypersensitive responses lead to the production of salicylic acid.
