Summary Introduction

To explain: The stimulus that controls the opening and closing of stomata.

Introduction: Stomata are small openings found in the upper layer (epidermis) of leaves, stems, and other organs that facilitate the exchange of gases. Stomata open and close to allow the release of oxygen and intake of carbon dioxide. Each stomata is surrounded by guard cells which regulate the functioning of stomata. There are a number of other stimuli which control the functioning of stomata.
