Why must there be no gaps in an electric circuit for it to carry current?
The reason for no gap in the electric circuit for it to carry current.
Explanation of Solution
Introduction:
The current flow in an electric circuit occurs due to the energy transfer between the all the electrons. If the energy transfer restricted at some point, then the current flow become stop.
In a circuit, the electrons at the negative terminal push the electrons towards the positive terminal. If there is any gap in the circuit, then the continuous flow of electron stops and no current flows. The flow of electron occurs only in the complete electric circuit.
Conclusion:
No gap must be in the circuit to carry current because the electrons cannot flow through the gap.
