Typhoid is caused by gram-negative bacterium Salmonella enterica (typhi). The bacterium is transmitted through “feces-contaminated water”. Poor sanitation and non-maintenance of sewage treatment plant lead to typhoid fever. Salmonellosis is caused by the ingestion of Salmonella ingested food material. The symptoms pertaining to Salmonellosis are visible after the colonization of the gram-negative gut bacterium Escherichia coli.
