Summary Introduction
Water that is supplied for domestic and industrial purposes is sometimes contaminated with some of the persistent species of microbes that cannot be eliminated by regular water treatment methods. The micro-organisms that are transmitted from contaminated water are called water-borne diseases. Some examples of water-borne diseases are cholera, typhoid, gastrointestinal infections and so on.
