The paths of airplanes are skew lines.
Explanation of Solution
Given information :
One airplane is flying northwest at 34000 feet.
Other is flying east at 25000 feet.
From the given data we can determine that both the planes are flying in different sides and at different altitude. Therefore we can conclude that the lines of airplanes shall never meet each other.
Therefore we may say that they form skew lines as they are nither coplanar nor they meet each other.
Hence the paths of airplanes are skew lines.
