The Miles per Gallon Calculator Problem
Create an application that calculates a car’s gas mileage. The formula for calculating the miles that a car can travel per gallon of gas is:
In the formula MPG is miles-per-gallon, miles is the number of miles that can be driven on a full tank of gas, and gallons is the number of gallons that the tank holds.
The application’s form should have TextBox controls that let the user enter the number of gallons of gas the tank holds and the number of miles the car can be driven on a full tank. When the Calculate MPG button is clicked, the application should display the number of miles that the car can be driven per gallon of gas. The form should also have a Clear button that clears the input and results, and an Exit button that ends the application. If the user fails to enter numeric values, display an appropriate error message and do not attempt to perform calculations. The application’s form should appear as shown in Figure 3–58.

Use the following set of test data to determine if the application is calculating properly:

- Using C# in Microsoft Visual Studio create an application that lets the user play the game of Rock, Paper, Scissors against the computer. The program should work as follows:1. When the program begins, a random number in the range of 1 through 3 is generated. If the number is 1, then the computer has chosen rock. If the number is2, then the computer has chosen paper. If the number is 3, then the computer has chosen scissors. (Do not display the computer’s choice yet.)2. The user selects his or her choice of rock, paper, or scissors. To get this input you can use Button controls, or clickable PictureBox controls displaying some of the artwork that you will find in the student sample files.3. The computer’s choice is displayed.4. A winner is selected according to the following rules:• If one player chooses rock and the other player chooses scissors, then rock wins. (Rock smashes scissors.)• If one player chooses scissors and the other player chooses paper, then scissors wins. Because Reza frequently mistypes long ticket numbers, Reza Enterprises has asked his students to write an application that shows if a ticket is invalid. Your application/program tells the ticket agent to enter a six-digit ticket number. Ticket numbers are designed so that if you lose the last digit of the number, then divide by 7, the remainder of the division is exactly the same to the last dropped digit. This process is shown below: Step 1: Enter the ticket number; for example 123454 Step 2: Remove the last digit, leaving 12345 Step 3: Determine the remainder when the ticket number from step 2 is divided by 7. In this case, 12345 divided by 7 leaves a remainder of 4. Step 4: Display a message to the ticket agent indicating whether the ticket number is valid or not. If the ticket number is valid, save the number to a .txt file called “tickets.txt” and continue to loop your program…arrow_forwardFat Percentage Calculator One gram of fat has 9 calories. If you know the number of fat grams in a particular food, you can use the following formula to calculate the number of calories that come from fat in that food: Calories from fat = Fat grams × 9 If you know the food’s total calories, you can use the following formula to calculate the percentage of calories from fat: Percentage of calories from fat = Calories from fat ÷ Total calories Create an application that allows the user to enter: • The total number of calories for a food item • The number of fat grams in that food item The application should calculate and display: • The number of calories from fat • The percentage of calories that come from fat Also, the application’s form should have a CheckBox that the user can check if he or she wants to know whether the food is considered low fat. (If the calories from fat are less than 30% of the total calories of the food, the food is considered low fat.) Use the following test data…arrow_forward

Directions: In this program you will ask the user for 4 integers that represtent two fractions. First ask for the numerator of the first and then the denominator. Then ask for the numerator and denominator of the second. Your program should add the two fractions and print out the result. Mass and VWeight (Nr 2, Page 282) Scientists measure an object's mass in kilograms and its weight in Newton. If you know the amount of mass of an object, you can calculate its weight, in Newtons, with the following formula: Weight = Mass x 9.8 Create an application that lets the user enter an object's mass and then calculates its weight. If the object weighs more than 1000 Newtons, display a message in a Label control indicating that it is too heavy and change the background colour of the label to red. If the object weighs less than 10 Newtons, display a message in a Label control indicating that it is too light and change the background colour of the label to blue. Otherwise display the weight, and change the background colour of the label to green. - C# Account numbers sometimes contain a check digit that is the result of a mathematical calculation. The inclusion of the digit in an account number helps ascertain whether the number is a valid one. Write an application named CheckDigit that asks a user to enter a four-digit account number and determines whether it is a valid number. The number is valid if the fourth digit is the remainder when the number represented by the first three digits of the four-digit number is divided by 7. For example, 7770 is valid, because 0 is the remainder when 777 is divided by 7. If the account number is valid, output The account number is valid. If the account number is invalid output Invalid. If the account number is too short or too long output Account number invalid - it must have 4 digits.arrow_forwardDesign the worst calculator ever: an application that accepts two numbers from the user and, when a button is pushed, performs a single operation and displays the results.
