Salmons are the major resources for terrestrial wildlife and they play an important role in the transport of nutrients across the ecosystem. Salmons develop in the marine environment and they accumulate a vast amount of carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorous in their body tissues. The reduction in the population of salmon may adversely affect the wildlife populations and the ecosystem processes.
