Concept introduction:

A girdle is a circular and a ring sort of structure made up of bones; either bones of the shoulder or bones of the pelvis region. The bones of shoulder of the shoulder girdle and the bones of pelvis or the abdominal region form the pelvic girdle. Shoulder girdle is also called as pectoral girdle and the hip girdle is also called as the pelvic girdle.
