Question
Chapter 27.2, Problem 13AYP
Summary Introduction
To analyze:
The effect produced by the increased blood pressure on ADH secretion. Also, the effect of ADH on the extracellular fluid is to be determined.
Introduction:
Antidiuretic hormone (ADH) helps in decreasing the plasma osmolarity and an increase in urine osmolality. It produces its response by binding to the receptor cells. That inserts water channels (aquaporin 2) in the apical cell membrane of the distal tubule and collecting duct. These channels increase the permeability of water in DCT and collecting duct, which is impermeable to water.
