Introduction:
Photoelectric effect refers to the ejection of electrons from a surface of metal when light having energy greater than the work function of the metal is incident on it.
Intensity of light is light energy per unit area per unit time i.e.
For a particular frequency, intensity depends on number of photons. As the number of photons incident on the surface increases, intensity will increase so the number of photoelectrons emitted will also increase, hence, current increases.
Conclusion:
For a particular frequency, number of photoelectrons emitted depends on number of photons incident on the surface.
