Concept explainers
To Explain: The effect on color of light given off by the bulb when potential difference applied across the bulb is decreased.
Explanation of Solution
Introduction:
The color of the light bulb depends on the temperature of the filament.
When the potential difference across the bulb is varied, the brightness of the bulb is changed. The power of the bulb directly depends on the voltage. When potential difference applied across the bulb is decreased, the brightness of the bulb would decrease and the color of the light would remain unchanged.
