Introduction:
The gallbladder is a pear-shaped organ located beneath the liver. Its major function is to store bile. It measures 10 cm in length, lined with columnar epithelial cells. The fundus (head) projects slightly beyond the interior edge of the liver, and the cervix (neck) leads into the cystic duct that in turn leads into the bile duct.
