Introduction:
B (bursa of Fabricius or bone marrow) lymphocytes or B cells of the adaptive immune system are derived from progenitor lymphoid stem cells. The process by which a lymphoid stem cell converts into a mature B cell involves a series of changes at the DNA level. This initiates a program of expression and deletion of certain genes. These changes are essential to help the B cells respond to numerous antigens.
