Amino acid is a compound that is composed of amino group and carboxylic acid group. The amino acids are required for protein synthesis.

A covalent bond that is formed by joining the carboxyl group of one amino acid with the amino group of second amino group is known as peptide bond.

A dipeptide involves two amino acid which formed by joining the carboxyl group of one amino acid with the amino group of second amino group.  Water will be eliminated during this reaction.

A tripeptide involves three amino acids which are bonded through two peptide linkage.
