Chapter 2.17, Problem 1MQ
Summary Introduction
Several Bacteria possess the ability to travel by swimming. This motility is aided by the presence of thin structures referred to as flagella (singular, flagellum). Flagella are small rotating structures that play role in pulling or pushing the cell in a liquid environment. Bacterial cells can be subjected to appropriate staining techniques and the flagella can be visualized using a light or electron microscope.
