Interpretation:
The structure should be identified by the given molecular formula
Concept Introduction:
Molecular formula: “Molecular formula of a compound is simplest formula which expresses its percentage composition. for example the molecular formula of the benzene is
Degree of Unsaturation: The degree of unsaturation is also known as the index of hydrogen deficiency.(IHD) or ring plus double bond formula is used in
For example-
If a molecule containing the single bonds with no ring is considered as saturated.
Unsaturated molecule contain double bond(s),triple bond(s)and /or ring
Criteria for the hemiacetal compound:
The starting material must contain both a carbonyl group and an OH- group.
The carbon atom of the acetal group must have been the location of the carbonyl group.
The OH-group must be contains the structure of the compound.
Formation of hemiacetal molecule:
Most of the hemiacetal compound takes three to four steps to form.
At first the carbonyl group gets protonated through hydronium ion i.e.
Secondly the alcohol group attacks the protonated carbonyl group.
At last the oxonium ion get deprotonated to give the hemiacetal as product.

- [In this question, there are multiple answers to type in a "fill-in-the-blank" fashion - in each case, type in a whole number.] Consider using Slater's Rules to calculate the shielding factor (S) for the last electron in silicon (Si). There will be electrons with a 0.35 S-multiplier, electrons with a 0.85 S-multiplier, and electrons with a 1.00 S-multiplier.arrow_forwardProvide the unknown for the given data.arrow_forwardDraw the Lewis structures of two methanol (CH3OH) molecules and depict hydrogenbonding between them with dashed lines.
