Introduction: The study of the evolution of an organism is termed as phylogeny. The process of mating of two organisms from different species or subspecies is termed as hybridization, and the new species produced by this process is called as hybrid.
On the other hand, polyploidy is the process of possessing more than two sets of chromosomes. Polyploidy and hybridization are important factors in the evolution of an organism.
