Chapter 2, Problem 1CFCA
Summary Introduction

Case summary:

Vitorio and Gary are about to attend manager's training session held at Missouri (headquarters of Company Vreeland Pharmaceuticals) and they are traveling together. During their travel, they discuss the importance of the meeting. Both of the men are quite disappointed to attend the meeting, as they already know how to deal with the employees.

They feel that they are about to waste their time in the session. They add that at first, Vreeland will disclose that the meeting is not required for the managers. However, later he will support the HR to carry on with the meeting.

Characters in the case:

  • Vitorio, one of the managers attending the training
  • Gary, one of the managers attending the training
  • Vreeland, the owner of pharmaceuticals
  • Connie, the HR in-charge of manager training sessions

Adequate information:

The meeting is mainly held to reduce the employees being fired for silly reasons and then apologizing for the same. The HR team feels guilty for such happenings due to the improper management and thus wants to create an error-free environment for all the employees.

To determine:

If Connie and her staff are right in imposing training for avoiding the mishaps of the manager.
