Blood glucose is regulated by the action of glucagon and insulin hormones secreted by alpha and beta-pancreatic cells. Glucagon raises the blood glucose levels whereasinsulin maintains the blood glucose level at the optimum level. Insulin is vital for regulating blood glucose levels.
