Introduction:
The anterior pituitary gland releases the thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) which is the reason for secretion of thyroxine or tetraiodothyronine (T4). Thyroid also releases triiodothyronine (T3). Normal level of thyroxine is required for the proper functioning and development of central nervous system in children.
