Introduction:
The thyroid and the parathyroid gland release various hormones that are involved in the regulation of the calcium level in the blood. Parathyroid hormone, 1,25-hydroxyvitamin D3, and calcitonin have different actions of the intestine, skeletal system, and the kidneys. They regulate blood levels of calcium through different mechanisms.
