Explanation of Solution

Introduction:

Concave lens is formed from two spherical surfaces that are bent inward. These lenses are also known as diverging lens because the light ray that is incident on it will diverge. While the convex lens is an optical lens made from two spherical surfaces that are bent outward. These lenses are also known as converging lens because the light ray that is incident on it will be converged and focused to a single point on the other side of the lens.

In a concave lens the reflecting surface is bent inward whereas in convex lens the reflecting surface is bent outwardly. In a convex lens, the central portion is bulged that means central portion is comparatively thicker than the edges but in a concave lens central portion is thinner than that of its boundaries.
