Chapter 18, Problem 4SQ
Summary Introduction
Concept introduction: A clade is a monophyletic group that consists of an ancestor in which a derived character evolved, together with all of its descendants. The common ancestor may be a species, a population, an individual, and so on up to a kingdom. Making hypothesis about the evolutionary history of a group of clades is called cladistics.
