Skeletal structural formula of three isomeric trisubstituted ammonium ions that have chemical formula of
Concept Introduction:
Substituted ammonium ion is the one in which one or more alkyl, aryl, or cycloalkyl groups are substituted instead of hydrogen atoms. There are two important generalizations that is applied to the substituted ammonium ion and they are,
- Substituted ammonium ions are not neutral molecules. They are charged species.
- Nitrogen atom has four bonds in ammonium ion or substituted ammonium ion. The species is positively charged as the fourth bond formed is a coordinate covalent bond.

- Indicate the variation in conductivity with concentration in solutions of strong electrolytes and weak electrolytes.arrow_forwardThe molar conductivity of a very dilute solution of NaCl has been determined. If it is diluted to one-fourth of the initial concentration, qualitatively explain how the molar conductivity of the new solution will compare with the first.arrow_forwardWhat does the phrase mean, if instead of 1 Faraday of electricity, Q coulombs (Q/F Faradays) pass through?arrow_forward
