Explanation Majorly there are two different types of diabetes, namely, type 1and type 2. There are several acute symptoms associated with type 1and type 2diabetes. Both the types of diabetes, however, involve either insufficient insulin synthesis, ineffective action of insulin, or increased destruction of insulin. Type 1 diabetes is also known by the names insulin-dependent or juvenile-onset diabetes. Autoimmune destruction of β-islet cells in the pancreas is the most common cause of type 1diabetes. In majority of type 1 diabetes patients, HLA-DR-3 (human histocompatibility antigen) and DR4 are found. Type 2 diabetes is also known by asnon-insulin-dependent diabetes and adult-onset diabetes. It is caused because of the insensitivity of the target tissues to insulin. The onset of type 2 diabetes is gradual.
