Introduction:
The insulin receptor comprises two large α-subunits and two β-subunits. α-Subunit binds to insulinthatleads to the activation of receptor tyrosine kinase activity. As a consequenc, ehe activation of receptor tyrosine kinase activity causes phosphorylation of several genes. Expression of more than 150 genes are altered by insulin binding, one of them is IRS (insulin receptor substrate 1).
