The mechanismsused by steroid receptors and CREB protein (cyclic adenosine phosphate response element-binding protein) to regulate the activity of transcription factors.
Introduction:
The three main mechanisms for the action of transcription factors are covalent modification, interactions between proteins, and binding of a small effector molecule. The binding of atranscription factor to the DNA(Deoxyribonucleic Acid) and transcription by RNA (ribonucleic acid) polymerase can be determined by these modulating effects.
