Introduction:
An ice burg that floats in the sea seems very big, when looked at from the surface. It is of course so, however, the portion of it that could not be seen from the surface is even bigger. Organizations are also similar to ice burgs. They consist of two areas, the area that is clearly identifiable when looked at from the outside and the deep area which many do not even know exists. It is important to understand both these areas in better managing an organization.

Project Overview
The Construction of 500 Low-Income Housing Project in the community of Perth, Manchester, Jamaica, is a national scheme implemented by the National Housing Trust (NHT). NHT is a statutory body established by the Government of Jamaica in 1976. This project seeks to improve the quality of life for low-income families by providing low-cost and climate resilient homes in 24 months. It will also ensure that individuals and families who currently earn up to minimum wage, approximately JMD 60,000 per month (USD 381), can improve their living conditions and afford their own property. This will include approximately 141 two-bedroom houses and 359 service lots at a cost of $19.2M to $19.95M and $6.3M to $7.1M (JMD), respectively.

For this discussion, I will share an example from the company I work for, referring back to the example I shared in week one concerning the ATM upgrade and debit card changes. When our company switched ATM and debit card processors, so did our process for fraud disputes. Initially, when a member’s card was frauded, they would come into the branch, we would refund their money under provisional credit, and then send off the dispute to the processor for them. This process worked well most of the time, but in the instances where a member claimed fraud and the processing company determined it was not fraud, their money was then taken back. With the new system, it is up to the member to file their own dispute, and they now have to wait 45-60 days to receive a refund if they are frauded.
