Concept Introduction:

Lipids are biomolecules that consist of long chains of hydrocarbon that means it contains carbon-carbon or carbon-hydrogen bonds. Mostly lipids comprise of polar functional group but they are identified by their physical properties, not by functional group attached to them. They are important components of living cells.

Hydrolysis of ester with water in presence of acid produces to give carboxylic acid and alcohol. The reaction that explains the hydrolysis of ester is as follows:
