Concept introduction: Thirty-one pairs of nerves that arise from the spinal cord are called as spinal nerves. The spinal nerve after exiting through the intervertebral foramen splits into two primary branches called as anterior and posterior rami. Anterior ramus forms the nerve plexus. Cervical plexus is formed by the cervical nerves.
