To find the location of the straight fence to divide a given triangular field.

Given:

The triangular field should be divided into two fields whose areas are in the ratio $2:1$ .

Calculation:

The following is the structure of field that can be shown

  

Area of A $=ax$

Area of B $=bx$

Ratio of area of A and Area of B $A:B=\frac{ax}{bx}=\frac{2}{1}$

So their fences will be also in the ratio of $a:b=2:1$
