Phenomenon that is able to explain movement of water from inside of snail to outside if salt is split onto its skin has to be explained.

Concept Introduction:

As is evident from its name, semipermeable membrane allows passage of only solvent or water molecules in any direction but restricts movement of larger solute molecules.
