Concept explainers
To describe: Image formed by the objective lens in a microscope.

Explanation of Solution
Introduction:
A microscope consists of two optical components: objective lens and the eyepiece lens. An objective lens is placed close to the object and has a very short focal length. An eyepiece system consists of a longer focal length with lower magnification.
In case of a microscope, the final image is formed by the involvement of two lenses: objective and eyepiece. Firstly, the image formed by the objective lens is taken as object by the eyepiece lens and then the final image is formed by the eyepiece which is magnified.
Now, the image formed by the objective lens is real and inverted in nature and size of the image is larger than the size of the object.
Conclusion:
Hence, the image formed by the objective lens of a microscope is real, inverted and larger than the size of the object.
