Concept explainers
(a)
Interpretation: The relation of stability and resonance of formic acid that explains the acidic nature of acid needs to be explained.
Concept Introduction:
Lewis dot structure is the representation which shows the bonding between atoms present in a molecule. It shows lone pairs and bond pairs that existing on each bonded atom. Lewis dot structure is also known as Lewis dot formula or electron dot structure.
Resonance is the phenomenon in which the lone pair of the molecule interacts with the pi bonds of the molecule. The resonance in the molecule stabilizes the molecule and also effects the properties of molecule.
