Concept explainers
Interpretation:
The meaning of synergistic effect should be explained with example.
Concept Introduction:
The synergistic effect is an effect between two more agents, substances or processes due to which an effect greater than the sum of the individual effects is produced. This effect is opposite to the antagonism.
Explanation of Solution
Two or more processes that are interacting together which results in an effect that is greater compared to the cumulative effect than the processes those are produced individually will result in synergistic effect. Whenever multiple hazards are present in the work place, this effect is an important consideration in occupational safety and health.
For example:
The effect of asbestos fibres and cigarette smoke. Asbestos fibres and cigarette smoke act in such a way that each increases the effect of the other.
