Concept Introduction: Platinum is a rare, stable and dense metal which is used in jewelry making because of its attractive and silver-like appearance. It is also used in medical, electronic and chemical processes due to other unique physical and chemical properties of platinum. Due to these useful properties, platinum has wide-range of application in industries.
It is known to be very denser (twice as lead) and very stable. This stability makes it corrosion resistant and good conductor of electricity.
It is non-toxic and stable thus, it does not react with body tissues. It is recently shown that platinum is used to inhibit the growth of several cancerous cells.
