To describe: The role of normal allele of BRCA1 in DNA repair.
Introduction: DNA damage is defined as a condition in which, during the replication process, the base pairs are mismatched or some of the base pairs undergo mutation. It is important to rectify these mismatches as an alteration in the base pair arrangement affects the structure of the protein coded by these base pairs. The DNA repair mechanism is an important tool responsible for removing mutations from the genome during the process of DNA synthesis.
