Introduction:

The cell division cycle in prokaryotes is much simpler than that in eukaryotic cells. These are primitive cells that lack organelles as well as a well-formed nucleus. Their DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) lies directly within the cytoplasm. They divide by the process of binary fission.
