Concept explainers
To explain:
Difference between the theoretical and experimental probability.
Answer to Problem 2E
Difference between the theoretical probability and experimental probability is described as below.
Explanation of Solution
The question is related to the likelihood or the chance of a given event occurring in a random experiment being studied.
The probability is basically the chance of an event occurring in a random experiment. The probability can be classified in two other types, i.e. experimental and theoretical probability.
Theoretical probability is one which is getting by assigning some probability to individuals subsets of whole space.
Theoretical probability is just a measure of the likelihood or the chance of any arbitrary event, or subset occurring in the random experiment.
Experimental probability is measure which is getting by repeating or conducting the experiment a number of times, and thus observing occurrence of the favorable event which is being considered for the probability.
