The dimensions and S.I units for A and B.

Answer to Problem 32P
Solution:
Dimensions of A and B are [LT−4] and [LT−2] respectively. The S.I units are m⋅s−4 and m⋅s−2 respectively.
Explanation of Solution
Given:
The speed v is given by v=At3−Bt , where t refers to time.
The dimension of v is [LT−1] . The dimensions of both At3 and Bt should be same since only physical quantities of same dimensions can be added. The dimension of both terms should be equal to [LT−1] which is the dimension of v .
Hence,dimension of:
At3=[LT−1]A[T3]=[LT−1]A=[LT−4]
Similarly,
Bt=[LT−1]B[T]=[LT−1]B=[LT−2]
Dimensions of A and B are [LT−4] and [LT−2] respectively.
The S.I unit for [L] and [T] are mands respectively. Hence, S.I unit for
A=[LT−4]=m⋅s−4
B=[LT−2]=m⋅s−2
Conclusion: Dimensions of A and B are [LT−4] and [LT−2] respectively. The S.I units are m⋅s−4 and m⋅s−2 respectively.
