To explain: The major classes of filaments which make up the cytoskeleton and the differences in their functions.
Introduction:
The cytosol when viewed under the microscope reveals several criss-cross filamentous structures called as Cytoskeleton. Cytoskeleton gives backbone to the cell, anchors the membrane bound organelles within the cell and also mediates the movement of proteins across the cell. They are found all across the cell connecting the voluminous plasma membrane and the cytosol.
To explain: The cytoskeletal filaments which make up muscle cells and epidermal cells of the skin.
